Global Gathering returns for a seventh year,  it again takes place at Long Marston Airfield, nr. Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire as the only two day dance festival from Friday 27th to Saturday 28th July, The global gathering line up has been announced.

 The main headliners are Basement Jaxx and Faithless with the worlds top dj Paul Van Dyk also performing alongside superstar djs Carl Cox and Erick Morillo, and Dutch trance master Armin Van Buuren.

From next season “after-hours” dance clubs on the island where the party never stops will be banned.

The Consell Insular d’Evissa, or regional council, said these clubs, which operate between 6am and 10am, after normal club hours, were causing a disturbance for residents and less nocturnal holidaymakers.

Ibiza’s local council, the Consell Insular d’Evissa, this week confirmed they’ll be enforcing a club curfew between 6am and 10am for the coming season, with Space, DC10 and Bora Bora all being forced to close during those hours. Britain’s Independent said afternoon clubbing could also be banned around Ibiza Town (til 6pm), though Space owner Pepe Rosello said they’ll be switching morning sessions to afternoons.

Some of the worlds largest clubs have been closed by the spainish goverment for up to two months.   Diario de Ibiza, the news agency for Ibiza has reported that superclubs Amnesia, DC10 and Bora Bora have been forced to shut down with immediate effect.  DC10 will be shut for two months  Amnesia and Bora Bora for one month each.   The goverment has been monitoring the sale and use of illegal narcotics in the last two summer seasons.

The government has now clamped down on these clubs saying the use of drugs is dangerous and could harm the tourist trade in the longer term.
